Be more human.

Coaching

An hour where you’re the only thing on my mind.

I offer one-to-one executive and leadership coaching for people who genuinely want to get better.

The short version

I’ve been coaching and developing leaders for more than ten years. I’m trained as a coach and the models, techniques and experience I’ve built over that time absolutely shape how I work.

I just don’t want our conversation to feel like I’m working my way through a model while you talk. Because people don’t work like that.

What actually happens

Sometimes I’ll listen for most of the session.

Sometimes I’ll ask loads of questions.

Sometimes you’ll need somewhere to vent for ten minutes before we can get anywhere useful.

Sometimes I’ll challenge something you’ve said because I don’t quite believe you.

Sometimes I’ll give you my view because I think it might help. I might even tell you “it’s a load of bollocks.”

And sometimes we’ll start talking about one thing, go completely off track and realise that the thing we ended up talking about was the real issue all along. That’s fine.

For the time we’re together, I want you to feel like you’re the only person in the room. No performance. No need to know the answer. Somewhere to actually think.

What changes

that’s the good stuff

I’d rather something genuinely shifted.

I’m not particularly interested in you leaving every session with fifteen actions and another development plan.

  • Maybe you see a problem differently.
  • Maybe you finally have the conversation you've been avoiding.
  • Maybe you listen instead of jumping in with the answer.
  • Maybe someone in your team starts showing you something you hadn't seen before.

If you leave thinking “shit, I need to approach that differently”, that’s a pretty good session.

Who I work with

I work with leaders at different stages of their careers, from people starting out in leadership, those stepping into significant leadership roles, through to experienced senior and executive leaders.

The situation varies.

  • You might feel stuck.
  • You might not be sure you're getting the best from your team.
  • You might wonder whether people are telling you what they really think.
  • You might be carrying far too much yourself.
  • Or things might be going brilliantly and you simply know you can get better.

What matters more is mindset. You have to be prepared to have an honest conversation. You have to be curious about the part you’re playing. And you have to care more about getting better than proving you’re right.

If you already know all the answers, I’m probably not your coach.

How it works

Start with a conversation

Twenty minutes. No charge and no pitch. We talk about what's going on and work out whether working together makes sense.

Then we work together properly

Typically six sessions over a few months, usually around 60 minutes each. Online or in person depending on location and what works.

Life happens between sessions

The useful stuff rarely waits politely for our next appointment. Where appropriate, we can stay in touch between sessions when something happens that you want to think through while it's still fresh.
